With lots of family & friends present there is the opportunity for all to help prepare the Balloon for flight, or simply stand back and watch. This is truly a special occasion that everyone can share in! Family & friends wave and call out enthusiastically “Bon Voyage” to their loved ones, which just adds to the excitement that’s been building since receiving this unique opportunity, only the privileged few before them have enjoyed. Once all the final safety checks have been completed, the Pilot calls for “Release” and everyone looks up in amazement as the Sky High Balloon lifts so graciously into the sky, going in a direction that only the gentle winds can decide.
As altitude is gained up to about 3000ft, helpful commentary & the pointing out of landmarks from the Pilot will be appreciated by all on board, as well known areas take on new dimensions. All the passengers will wish they had brought extra film for their cameras to capture the spectacular views from on high, as the smooth tranquil ride always puts everyone into a stunned silence. Further blasts from the powerful burners and travelling gently at about 10 mph, distant villages draw nearer, but with no sensation of speed your Pilot continues to use the availalbe wind currents to offer all on board the best possible views.
Whilst
the Balloon is set at the cruising altitude, now is the ideal opportunity
to ask those technical questions of your Pilot and even find out why
sandbags aren’t used any more!
As the flight continues, your Pilot, using his wealth of experience, will take the Balloon down to low level. Welcome to “Hedge Hopping”! Hopping in and out of fields and skimming across the tops of trees and cornfields will prove how accurately the Balloon can be flown and gives passengers with cameras further opportunities to capture, at close range, wildlife in their own habitat.
After Flying for about an hour, it’s time to bring everyone safely back down to earth. With all that wealth of experience, Sky High Pilots know which are the best fields to land in, and will prepare everyone by asking for the simple but thoroughly rehearsed and practised landing positions, making safety the most important issue of the whole event.
Trusted Ground Crew, who will have been in radio contact with the Pilot, gain permission from the landowner to recover the equipment and will then offer passengers complimentary transport back to the launch site...where Lots Of Real Champagne is awaiting their return.
A grand welcome back from family & friends is quite usual. As all are poised with cameras and videos to capture the customary Champagne toast from the Pilot, the Ground Crew busily refill passenger glasses... then, just as important... the Presentation Of Flight Certificates underlines the sense of occasion.

Passengers can choose when they wish to fly, maybe just as the sun rises in the morning, ready to burn off low lying mist from dew drenched fields or perhaps late evening about 2 hours before sunset, as the sun prepares to bow down behind the Clwyd Mountain Range. It is these times when the most stable weather conditions occur.
Two types of Flight Voucher are available. “Open Vouchers” when the recipient can make their own arrangements tend to be the most popular!
Or you may prefer a pre-agreed “Dated Voucher” when you the organiser has secretly arranged for a Mystery Tour! Both types of Flight Voucher are valid for 12 months, so it really is up to the passenger when they wish to fly, but everyone is reminded that Balloon flying is “good weather” dependent to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience.
